The county is currently home to over 230 international companies and over 460 high-tech firms. Much of this growth is centered around Technology Park/Atlanta, a 600-acre industrial campus with more than 70 firms located in the rolling hills and pine groves of Peachtree Corners. Local shoppers find the 1.5 million square foot Gwinnett Place Mall meets all their shopping needs with five major department stores, several popular restaurants, and over 200 specialty shops.

Newcomers will be impressed with the wide array of housing styles in the Lilburn, Lawrenceville, and Snellville areas. Further north, the affluent neighborhoods in Duluth offer a distinctive selection of gracious homes on lush, sizable lots. In the northern reaches of Gwinnett County, the city of Buford and nearby dazzling Lake Lanier afford residents homesites nestled conveniently close to the water’s edge. Compared to many of the historic communities throughout the greater Atlanta area, the City of Berkeley Lake got a late start. The majority of the city’s lands were not developed until the late 1940s. For many years, Berkeley Lake was primarily a summer retreat with an assortment of fishing cottages slowing giving way to a growing number of permanent homes. Since the 1950s, residents have fought strongly and successfully to preserve the beauty and health of both the lake and its surrounding areas. Since the city’s incorporation, many city ordinances have been passed that are designed to protect the tranquility and character of the community. Newcomers will find closely-guarded Berkeley Lake to be an outstanding community set against a one-of-a-kind scenic backdrop.
