This  friendly community takes pride in the serenity of its tree-shaded neighborhoods  and the involvement of its residents in civic affairs. Hayden is a small incorporated town that sprang in the early  1900s with the construction of the L&amp;N railroad. The historic downtown district features a medley of quaint specialty shops that  blend with modern development including several mini-malls. Recreational  amenities are highly developed and include lush parks, three local golf  courses, and a community swimming pool. Garnering the title of Tree City USA  for 10 years, Oneonta welcomes newcomers to lovely neighborhoods where the  homes and properties show pride of ownership and quiet streets enjoy a canopy  of mature trees.
