Registration Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

In order to register your child or children in Alaska public schools, you will need to bring the following information and documentation: Certified stamped-seal birth certificate for the child, proof of residency, proof of grade, copy of current immunizations. Residency proof can take the form of a recent utility bill, lease agreement, mortgage statement, or other legal documentation.<\/p>\n

Children must be at least five years of age on or before September 1st to be enrolled in Kindergarten for the coming school year. If your child is being transferred from another public school and is not yet five years old they may be enrolled at an ASD school. Also required for school registration is a physician-signed immunization record indicating the dates for four DPT or DtaP shots, three polio vaccines, two MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccines, two Hepatitis A, and three Hepatitis B shots. Other important information to bring to registration includes transcripts from the previous school attended or the name and address for ordering past records as well as the contact information for your child-care provider.<\/p>\n
