\nThe cost of living chart is a comparison of costs for consumer goods and services in each participating area listed on the chart. The average of all of the participating areas equals 100 percent. The numbers on the chart represent the cost for each item or service as compared to the average. So for example Manhattan NY is much higher than the average and Asheville is below the average. Or an easier way to look at it is that it costs more money to live in Manhattan than in Asheville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
