Some of the nation&#8217;s largest companies have facilities here and others are continuously drawn to Cobb County by the multitude of retail and office complexes, convention and exhibition amenities, and high volume warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing facilities. The city was incorporated in 1860, but was almost destroyed just four years later. During General Sherman&#8217;s infamous march to the sea, the city was almost completely leveled by fire. Today&#8217;s Acworth is thriving and is a popular location for suburban Atlanta residents. Today, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park serves as a monument to the two Civil War battles that determined the famous siege of Atlanta. These affordable well-kept neighborhoods, along with a 20-mile commute into downtown Atlanta, are just two reasons why Powder Springs is an increasingly popular area among homebuyers.
