Colorado offers fishing without a license the first full week in June each year, although all other regulations and laws apply. During the rest of the year, licenses are required. Hunters who were born on or after January 1, 1949, must successfully complete a Hunter Education Course before they can be licensed. Fees for fishing and hunting licenses vary with the applicant&#8217;s age, residency status, duration of the license, and type of license. Licenses for children are available at a nominal cost.
