US Highway 321 links the more southern of these “metro west” communities \u2014 Swansea and Gaston \u2014 to those along the Interstate 26 corridor leading to Columbia. The community of Irmo owes its phenomenal growth in recent decades to an ideal location off the shores of Lake Murray within 10 miles of Columbia metropolitan attractions.
