Originally called Atlas after the surrounding township, the small community of Goodrich was incorporated as a village in 1957. Located along Genesee County’s eastern border to the south, the Village of Gaines is a very small rural town that depends upon the support of agricultural activity throughout Gaines Township as well as the close proximity to Flint.
