Cycling on the Eastern Shore<\/strong>
\nMaryland is known as a bike-friendly state, this is never more true than in the Eastern Shore area with miles of pristine scenery, charming marinas, vast wetlands, and one historic village after another.<\/p>\n

* Bicycling in Maryland: A Quick Reference Guide to Bicycle Information in Maryland is a thorough compilation of bicycling information and contacts throughout the state. It\u2019s available from the State Department of Transportation at 800-252-8776.<\/p>\n

* The Kent County Bicycle Tour includes nine routes range from 11 to 81 miles. The routes were developed by the Baltimore Bicycle Club and the free booklet can be ordered by calling 410-810-2830.<\/p>\n

* In Talbot County, a local bike shop has produced a brochure that outlines bicycle routes though the town of Easton, St. Michaels and Oxford and includes information about biking access to the famous Oxford-Bellevue Ferry. For information, contact the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce at 410-822-4606.<\/p>\n

* Dorchester County releases a brochure that outlines three bike trails, including a 25-mile Blackwater Refuge loop, a 41-mile Vienna-to-Blackwater loop and a 6.3-mile Cambridge loop. Call 800-522-TOUR.<\/p>\n

* The Beach-to Bay Indian Trail is a self-guided tour through Somerset and Worcester Counties and can be traveled by bicycle. A free brochure is available from the Somerset County Tourism office at 410-651-2968 or the Worcester County Tourism office at 800-852-0335.
