\nLocated on the upper East Coast of Florida between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, pristine Flagler County is bordered on the east by 19 miles of Atlantic Ocean. Although slow growth prior to 1970 has protected the natural environment and greenways, the county is now one of the fastest-growing in the nation. To keep pace with the need for quality services, Florida Hospital Flagler opened its doors in 2002 with a 99-bed main hospital campus, Town Center Surgery and the Parkway Medical Plaza. The Parkway Medical Plaza opened in 2012 providing several physician practices along with Imaging, Rehab, Lab and Prompt Care, and a Florida Walk-In Clinic.<\/p>\n

Newcomers to Flagler County will also be impressed by the caliber of education on every level. The public school system is one of the finest in the state, continually meeting the challenge of a growing student population. Approximately half of the teachers hold master\u2019s degrees, and an average of 92 percent of the graduating high school seniors continue to post-secondary institutions. Adult and community education includes apprenticeship programs for 25 trades. Higher education is easy to access for those who live in Flagler County. Colleges and universities within commuting distance include Daytona Beach Community College with campuses in Palm Coast and Daytona Beach, St. Johns River Community College in Palatka, Flagler College in St. Augustine, the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, and Stetson University in DeLand.
