Mocksville, the county seat and the largest town in Davie County, is a historic town that was incorporated in 1839. Other incorporated towns in the county include Cooleemee, incorporated in 1985, and Bermuda Run, incorporated in 1999. Other townships include Calahain, Clarksville, Farmington, Fulton, Jerusalem, and Shady Grove.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lifestyle<br \/>\n<\/strong>Community pride is evident throughout Davie County. The top agriculture products grown in Davie County include: milk, beef cattle, poultry products, timber, flue-cured tobacco, greenhouse and nursery products, soybeans and corn. Portions of Davie County are located in the Yadkin Valley AVA, an American Viticulture Area. Wines made from grapes grown in the Yadkin Valley AVA may use the appellation Yadkin Valley on their labels.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nThe County affords outstanding educational opportunities at all levels. Public and private schools offer strong college preparatory, vocational and technical programs. As the largest municipality in Davie County, Mocksville serves as the county seat. Citizens here enjoy a high quality of life in a diversified community with an optimal mix of residential neighborhoods, historic shopping districts, arts &amp; entertainment venues and recreational amenities. With a population of just over 1,500 residents, the Town enjoys the benefits of a small town atmosphere while being conveniently located within minutes of Winston-Salem. The Town of Bermuda Run incorporated July 1, 1999 as a fully gated residential community. As a result of an annexation in November of 2000, the town added an open commercial area to the gated residential area. The Town owns and maintains nearly 7 miles of roadway and provides services such as sanitary sewer, road maintenance, snow removal, street lighting, law enforcement, planning and zoning and water. Cooleemee is home to around 1000 residents who enjoy a traditional small town way of life. It\u2019s a community where residents are neighborly and newcomers easily fit into the pace of life. Streets are lined with mature trees and well kept homes of every variety. There is a strong sense of community priced and local support, civic groups, churches and elected officials work together to undertake improvements and set goals for its future. Education is supported in the town and Cooleemee Elementary School is known for its excellent teaching staff and use of modern technology. Local children are enriched with an outstanding heritage program, with a hands-on history lesson for every grade.
