\nVoter Registration<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nebraska and Iowa residents who are at least 18 years of age and have not been convicted of a felony or declared mentally incompetent are eligible to vote. Seventeen-year-olds may vote in Nebraska election if their birthdays fall by the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Iowa residents can register to vote at age 17 1\/2 but must be at least 18 years of age by the next election. Mail-in registration must be postmarked on or before the third Friday before an election in Nebraska. In both Nebraska and Iowa, registering in person at the county elections office or other registration sites must be completed at least 10 days prior to the election. Newcomers to both states will find it easy to register to vote at the Department of Motor Vehicles at the same time they are obtaining a new drivers license.
