Iowa Drivers License<\/strong>

\n<\/strong>Iowa law requires new residents to register their motor vehicles with the county treasurer’s office within 30 days from the date they establish residency. Required documentation that will be needed at the county treasurer’s office include your current ownership document (certificate of title) and a completed application for an Iowa certificate of title and\/or registration. The application must be signed by all owners. If there is a lien against the vehicle, it should be noted on the application. Vehicle Safety Laws<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nebraska law states that all front-seat passengers must wear a seat belt. Children up to age six must be correctly secured in a federally-approved child safety seat in all seating positions. All\u00a0children\u00a0ages 6\u00a0to 18\u00a0are required to ride secured in a safety belt (or child safety seat, if desired) in all seating positions. Children up to age 18 are prohibited from riding in cargo areas. Failure to properly restrain a child is considered a primary offense in Nebraska: drivers can be pulled over and given a ticket if a child is not properly restrained.<\/p>\n

Iowa also requires all front-seat passengers to wear a seat belt and maintains specific guidelines for child safety. Children under one year old and weighing less than 20 pounds must be secured in a rear-racing child restraint system. Children under six years of age must be secured in a child restraint system (safety\/booster seat as opposed to a seat belt). Those from 6 to 11 years old must be secured in a child restraint system or by a safety belt.<\/p>\n
