Although the community of Uniontown City is only 2 square miles in area, it sprawls into both South Union and North Union Townships and serves as the a center of commerce, government, education, and employment for the entire county. Greater Uniontown business park is located in North Union Township, which is also home to the Shady Grove Park, Fayette Plaza, and the Fayette campus for Pennsylvania State University.
