First time hunters and hunters from 12 to 15 years of age are required to complete the hunter education course prior to receiving a license. The department offers extensive educational programs including hunter safety education programs and provides publications on request. Watercraft registration forms are available from VDGIF offices, boat dealers, and hunting\/fishing licensing agents but they are also online for downloading and printing. Title, registration, and license plates for watercraft trailers are purchased through the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
