\nSince 1975, this health system has maintained an active affiliation with the University of California, Davis. Nearly 400 university residents and more than 100 medical students are trained at the Sacramento VA Medical Center, Martinez Outpatient Clinic, and the Center for Rehabilitation & Extended Care each year. A General Clinic Research Center was developed through a partnership between VANCHCS and the University of California, Davis, and is located at the Sacramento VA Medical Center.\u00a0 Designated as a GCRC by the National Center for Research Resources, the center offers an optimal setting to conduct state-of-the-art, safe and controlled inpatient and outpatient studies.<\/p>\n
