The rural town of Fellsmere in northwestern Indian River County has transformed its economy over the decades from sugar production to a citrus and cattle center. The sprawling subdivision of Florida Ridge is situated along the major thoroughfare of U.S. Highway 1 south of Vero Beach. This unincorporated community is located across the Indian River from South Beach, ensuring world-class fishing, water sports, and boating opportunities. Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River is an elongated stretch of barrier island that serves as a beautiful waterfront home to several small communities.
