Voter Registration
To register to vote in Washington State, you must be a U.S. citizen, legal resident of the state in which you are voting, and at least 18 years of age by election day. Washington State requires that you register 30 days prior to the election in order to vote in that election. If you miss the 30-day deadline, you can still register in person no later than 15 days prior to the election. Residents can sign up to vote by mail or by “Motor Voter” registration when they apply for or renew their driver’s license. Voter registration forms are also available from county auditors or elections department as well as many public libraries, schools, and other government offices.

If you move to a new county, you must complete a new voter registration. If you move within the same county, you do not need to re-register, but you must request a transfer of your registration by calling or writing to your county elections department.
