Arizona requires annual licensing of all dogs over four months of age. New residents have 30 days to comply with rabies vaccination and registration. Although cats are not licensed, rabies vaccinations are strongly recommended. Newcomers to Arizona must also be aware of the extreme heat that builds up in parked vehicles where temperatures can climb to lethal levels in few minutes. Never leave pets or children unattended.
