ACADEMICS / CHILD CARE

Working parents and guardians will find a wide selection of child-care facilities and services available throughout the metropolitan area. Before and after-school programs are also offered at many elementary schools within the Albuquerque public school district. These programs provide a variety of activities including arts and crafts, field trips, recreation, and study time. The New Mexico Kids Warmline is a free service for parents or child-care providers who want to discuss issues related to child development, health, or child care with qualified staff members at the University of New Mexico. The New Mexico Office of Child Development website offers a wealth of information on child development and information on available child-care providers throughout the state, selectable by area.
