FAMILY ATTRACTIONS / PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEMS

The public libraries on the islands are all under the management of the Hawaii State Public Library System, another unique feature of life in Hawaii. More than 50 libraries serve residents of the islands, including locations on Hawaii’s Big Island, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, and Oahu. Funds that allow the libraries to meet special needs as well as to grow and expand come from membership dues, donations, endowments, memorials, annual book sales, and special fundraisers like the Literacy Golf Tournament.
