Although the sprawling area within the City of Henderson popularly called “Green Valley” is not a separate municipality, it proudly maintains its own identity and character. By the closing of the 20th century, a large segment of Henderson was moving away from its “blue collar” roots and transforming into the picture of upscale suburbia. This newer and more modern “community within a community” became known as Green Valley. Within the vast area of Green Valley are a wide selection of residential developments filled with fine homes and neat landscaping. Shopping centers and a large regional mall attest to the retail expansion that has kept pace with the influx of residents. The total military population adds more than 40,000 regional residents, including family members and military retirees. Since the majority of the base employees reside in the neighboring communities, Nellis AFB continues to have a positive and far-reaching affect on the growth and development of metropolitan Las Vegas.

The Lakes is a two square mile master planned community located in the western part of the Las Vegas Valley near the Spring Mountains and Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The centerpiece of the community, and its namesake, is a large man-made lake. It consists of a mixture of single-family homes, apartments, condominiums, commercial and office space. The community is bounded by Sahara Avenue to the North, Durango Drive to the east, Desert Inn Road to the South, and Hualapai Way to the West. Several other notable master-planned communities are adjacent, including Summerlin to the west and Peccole Ranch and Canyon Gate to the north.

Turnberry Place
Another of the high-rise developments in the heart of Las Vegas is Turnberry Place, designed by architects Don and Jeffrey Soffer. Near Las Vegas Boulevard, these elegant and sophisticated condominiums soar above the neon city lights to command peerless views. Amenities include concierge and limousine service, a swimming pool, a tennis complex, a fitness center, European-style spa, and the finest of dining. Four 40-story towers make up this $650 million luxury community anchored by the Stirling Club, a peerless exercise center and spa.

Wyeth Ranch
Nestled in the popular northwestern Las Vegas Valley is the gated community of Wyeth Ranch. Beautiful neighborhoods enjoy the panoramic backdrop of the Sheep Mountain Range at a distance from the traffic and fast pace of the city. Oversized properties present the ideal
complement for wonderful home designs that feature three and four-car garages, inviting courtyards, thoughtful appointments, craftsmanship, and distinctive architecture.
