Locating a good source of care for children from infants to school-age children is a major concern for working and/or single parents. For licensing purposes, California divides child-care facilities into the categories of small or large family situations in the provider’s home and nursery schools or child-care centers. Although the state imposes certain restrictions upon each of the categories, many larger facilities maintain their own restrictions such as limiting enrollment to children over the age of two.
