TAX & LICENSE / FISHING & HUNTING LICENSES


Anyone who is hunting, fishing, or trapping must carry a valid license and any applicable stamps or permit sunless exempt. Only those under age 17 or born before September 1, 1930, are able to fish in public waters without a license in Texas with the exception of the first Saturday in June. No one is required to have a fishing license or stamps on that Free Fishing Day. A hunting license is required of any person, regardless of age, who hunts any animal or bird in the state. Recreational hunting and fishing licenses and stamp endorsements are available at over 2,000 locations throughout the state.
