As common to the entire Southeast, Fayette County is steeped in a rich history, including many events and figures that have shaped American history. Boasting a delightful small town atmosphere, Fayette County is home to several family oriented communities. Strategically located just 25 miles from Atlanta and 15 miles from Hartsfield International Airport, by utilizing the many surrounding interstates, residents are never far from the amenities of the metro Atlanta area. Within the county, a burgeoning business climate has drawn numerous multinational corporations to establish administrative, manufacturing, and distribution facilities throughout the county’s many industrial tracts.

Peachtree City serves as the dominant residential community in Fayette County. It is also both the youngest and largest city in the county. This 15,000-acre, master-planned community was first established in 1959 and is a model for many other similar communities throughout the nation. Boasting the South’s highest per capita ownership of golf carts, Peachtree City residents enjoy hassle-free access to their community utilizing over 70 miles of cart paths.

Services
Proud of its outstanding public schools, the Fayette County School System is one of the top systems in Georgia. Quality educators, modern schools, and a low pupil to teacher ratio combine for academic success. On average, an impressive 94 percent of the county’s high school graduates go on to pursue a higher education.

Fayette Community Hospital serves the medical needs of the community. A 100-bed, general hospital, over 350 physicians in more than 30 specialties are readily available with a 24-hour emergency room. Other services include outpatient surgery, physical therapy, and critical care.

Top employers in the county include Atlanta Photocircuits, Panasonic, and NCR. Other primary sources of employment include the Fayette County School System and the Fayetteville Pavilion.

The City of Fayetteville was chartered in 1823 and is home to Georgia’s oldest continually operating courthouse. With a rich history spanning nearly 200 years, Fayetteville enjoys both a proud heritage and bright outlook towards the future. Today, Fayetteville offers its residents all the conveniences of modern living combined with a distinct appreciation for the past. Local attractions include the October County Fair, Shake Rag Arts and Crafts Show, Fayetteville Courthouse, and Fayetteville Depot. Popular recreational destinations include Whitewater Creek and Flint River. While housing options throughout the city are varied, the majority of homes are traditionally styled.

Peachtree City is located only 15 miles south of Atlanta and is situated on 24 square miles of beautiful, green terrain. An award-winning, master-planned community, conceived in the 1950s, Peachtree City has been repeatedly recognized for its high standard of urban design, development, and growth which has ensured that the commercial and industrial aspects of the city remain in harmony. Home choices in Peachtree City are attractively diverse. Residential areas are divided into “villages”, each with its own recreational facilities, commercial establishments, and community activities. Villages include Aberdeen, Braelinn, Glenloch, and Kedron. Many of the city’s impressive residential homesites border one of two small neighborhood lakes. Peachtree City also offers more than 70 miles of paved bicycle paths, connecting neighborhoods and recreation areas.
