Newcomers to Metropolitan Cleveland and the Akron-Canton metro area will find the family-oriented Midwest to be a close-knit environment anchored in traditional values. At the same time, Northeast Ohio offers a dynamic and progressive hub of cosmopolitan amenities and a surprising number of stellar attractions. Cleveland draws visitors from across the region to the lively Warehouse District, a mixed-use entertainment, dining, and residential development that transformed yesterdays decaying warehouse space into a trendy destination. Complementing the city’s exclusive historic neighborhoods, Cleveland’s churches offer excellent examples of grand architecture including the Polish Cathedral style.

The Historic Gateway District is another star of the downtown scene, home to Jacobs Field and Quicken Loans Arena of Cleveland Indians baseball and Cleveland Cavaliers basketball fame. The tourist district offers the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Great Lakes Science Center, the Cleveland Browns Stadium, the North Coast Harbor, and the Steamship William G. Mather Maritime Museum. Playhouse Square Center is the downtown cultural heart, drawing audiences to a cluster of wonderful theaters that make up the second largest performing arts center in the nation behind New York City’s Lincoln Center. Nationally recognized performances include the Cleveland Opera, the Ohio Ballet, and the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra. During the summer months, the orchestra offers pops concerts in beautiful Blossom Music Center with its amphitheater and grassy hillside. Festivals dot the calendar with colorful celebrations of history, culture, art, music, great food, and competitive spirit. Cleveland hosts a whimsical Saint Patrick’s Day parade that draws thousands into the streets.

Numerous attractions dot the suburbs that surround Cleveland as well as the Akron-Canton metro area, from regional highlights like the Cedar Point Amusement Park or the Cleveland Zoo and its amazing Rain Forest to charming places like the intimate Akron Zoo.  The Akron area also boasts the historic Victorian masterpiece of Stan Hewett Hall and E.J. Thomas Hall for stellar performances. Living history museums, science and exploration centers, theme museums, vibrant shopping districts, fine dining, and grand old architecture make Northeast Ohio a stimulating place to live, work, and play. Vast stretches of rural counties surround the bustling metropolitan cores, offering a wonderful mix of urban, suburban, rural-suburban, and country settings for residential development. Lush landscapes offer enchanting wooded parks, rolling hills, rich farmland, lakeshore attractions, and growing cities and towns. Natural and developed recreational areas provide a scenic backdrop for every imaginable activity. Wherever you choose to settle in Northeast Ohio, Midwestern warmth and hospitality will have you feeling immediately at home.
