Columbia is approximately 110 miles via Interstate 26 from Charleston’s deepwater port, the East Coast’s second busiest. Most of Charleston’s 130 truck lines have routes through Columbia on Interstate 26. Norfolk-Southern and CSX rail lines, which both serve Columbia, are the sole rail providers to the port.
