Located just south of Sanford on the Lee and Harnett County lines, the town of Broadway was formed in the late 1800’s by early settlers coming to the area to distill turpentine. Later farming grew to become the predominant industry of the area. To this day, farming still plays a large role in the town’s economy.
Broadway is a walkable community with peaceful streets that are enjoyed by those who enjoy being in the outdoors, either on foot or on a bicycle. Within a few miles of the town outdoor enthusiasts can also find plenty to keep them occupied along the Cape Fear River with its many trails and water opportunities. Broadway is an outstanding example of a quiet community that is growing into a wonderful place to live and work.
