Only one of three incorporated communities in Hillsborough County, Temple Terrace is located northeast of Tampa. Named for the hybrid “Temple” oranges and the surrounding “terraced” terrain, Temple Terrace was incorporated in 1925. Like many areas of the bay region, the city’s first development occurred during the early decades of the 20th century when lovely Mediterranean architecture graced elegant homes.
