As part of a vast nine-county “Nature Coast” region, Pasco County is known for its spectacular sunsets, welcoming small communities, and premier recreational amenities. The area supports a flourishing business sector, but it also opens its doors to thousands of tourists and winter visitors drawn to the bay climate, waterfront views, and relaxed pace. Ranking among the nation’s fastest-growing counties, Pasco offers some of the lowest taxes and most attractive home values in the Tampa Bay metropolitan region.

Many corners of the county still rely heavily on agricultural revenue as they preserve the heritage of the region’s rural roots. In addition to St. Joseph’s title as  the “kumquat capital of the world,” other mainstays include cattle, cash crops, and greenhouse foliage. The county seat of Dade City anchors the region with highly developed amenities, from cultural and entertainment attractions to private schools and college campuses.

Services
Millions of dollars in transportation improvements are greatly expanding the opportunity for commercial and industrial growth in Pasco County. Also serving as magnets for future development are the higher education facilities of Saint Leo University and the campus for Pasco-Hernando Community College, the latter offering University of South Florida courses. Outstanding public and private schools benefit from a cooperative spirit between residents, educational facilities, and the local business community.

An entire network of fine healthcare facilities include the Community Hospital of New Port Richey, North Bay Medical Center, Pasco Regional Medical Center, and East Pasco Medical Center. Even the residents of small towns and rural areas can easily access skilled professionals and support facilities, while the region is home to nationally respected research centers and advanced treatment institutes.

Lifestyle
Abundant new-home communities, lower prices, and comfortable commutes are making Pasco County a focal point of interest in the Tampa Bay region. Friendly small towns offer quality schools within walking distance of quiet, tree-shaded neighborhoods. School and community events are strongly emphasized in this family-friendly environment.

Recreation is another highlight of Pasco County living, where miles of pristine gulf coast beaches invite sport fishing, water sports, boating, swimming, and relaxing under the warm Florida sun. Spectacular golf courses, tennis courts, sports courts and fields, diverse recreation programs, community centers, and fitness centers are all available. Many of the fine residential developments springing up throughout the county boast premier amenities, while the county maintains a myriad of beautiful parks with woodland, water access, and vast acres of open space.

Those interested in culture and the fine arts can take advantage of the world-class performing arts in Tampa, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg; but they can also enjoy an expanding selection of local attractions. Artists, musicians, writers, and actors are all making this panoramic region their home, adding to the quantity and quality of venues and productions. Many of the galleries display unique items from local professional artists.

Shopping is available in regional malls or quaint historic districts where sweeping renovations are revitalizing a vintage town center. From Dade City’s famous antique district to fascinating flea markets or the modern Gulf View Square Mall in Port Richey, shoppers have a full complement of options.

Pasco County falls into quadrants that offer quick commutes to key employment centers. The southwestern sector is just north of the Pinellas County line, while central Pasco County reaches toward the Hillsborough County borders. With its rural charm, natural serenity, burgeoning economy, and convenient access to major metropolitan resources, Pasco County is maturing as a prime relocation choice within the Tampa Bay region.
