District of Columbia
Enrollment and transfer requirements for all public school students in the District of Columbia include legal birth certificate, record of immunization including measles, mumps, rubella, polio, DPT, tetanus and tuberculosis, legal proof of residence, record of prior school attendance and proof of physical and dental examinations. Students must be at least 5 years of age by December 31 of the enrollment year in order to register for kindergarten. Maryland
Enrollment and transfer requirements for all public school students in Maryland include legal birth certificate, last report card and transcripts from previous school, and proof of immunization for DPT, polio, rubella and measles. Students in Anne Arundel County, Frederick County, Howard County, and Prince George’s County must be at least 5 years of age by January 1 of the enrollment year. Those in Calvert County, Charles County, Montgomery County, and St. Mary’s County must be 5 years of age by December 31. Virginia
Enrollment requirements for all public school students in Virginia include birth certificate, social security number, a certificate of physical examination, proof of a complete series of immunizations including DPT, polio, tetanus, mumps, measles, German measles and whooping cough. Virginia requires that children be at least 5 years of age on or before September 30 of the enrollment year.
