Picturesque rural scenes and friendly small towns characterize Campbell County, one of the fast-growing areas in the northern Kentucky section of Greater Cincinnati. Just minutes away from downtown Cincinnati, the Campbell County communities are part of the area known as northern Kentucky. In recent years, this three-county region has experienced considerable growth and development as a result of the Interstate 275 loop around Cincinnati and the stellar success of the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Kentucky.

Services
The network of public and private schools is complemented by an impressive array of opportunities for career and vocational training as well as higher education. Campbell County is the proud home of Northern Kentucky University, where students can choose from a wide selection of programs on undergraduate and graduate levels, including law degrees through the Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Thomas More College in Crestview Hills is a small Roman Catholic liberal arts college with a national reputation. Those who are looking for an affordable start on a four-year degree, two-year degrees or certifications, or continuing education will appreciate the well-developed resources and multiple campuses for Gateway Community and Technical College. Greater Cincinnati and nearby cities in Kentucky add a number of public and private colleges to the list of institutions that are available within a reasonable commute.

State-of-the-art healthcare is ensured throughout this area by a network of services and facilities. Skilled professionals in private practice, emergency medical facilities, outpatient clinics, and awareness programs provide the finest in medical care and wellness programs. St. Elizabeth Medical Center with hospitals in Covington, Edgewood, and Williamstown has been serving the healthcare needs of residents of northern Kentucky since the 1800s. As one of the largest and most respected of the medical centers in Greater Cincinnati, St. Elizabeth consistently ranks in the top five percent of hospitals across the nation for quality of care. Another leader in patient care and advanced technology in northern Kentucky, the St. Luke Hospitals were the first to open a Regional Vascular Institute and Center for Breast Health in the area. Providing sophisticated technology and a caring, compassionate staff, St. Luke is exceptionally well-suited to care for women’s needs in addition to its comprehensive array of specialized medical and surgical services.

Lifestyle
Campbell County is home to some of the most celebrated attractions and important resources in northern Kentucky. The spectacular Newport Aquarium in Newport is rated among the top 25 attractions in the entire nation by the internationally famous Zagat Survey. This stellar science museum invites visitors to explore an amazing variety of aquatic life from around the world, showcased in 70 exhibits and 14 galleries including five seamless acrylic tunnels more than 200 feet long. Newport on the Levee, where the Newport Aquarium is one of many attractions, offers 10 acres of entertainment venues, wonderful shops, and casual or fine dining opportunities. Because Campbell County offers such a picturesque water-oriented setting, other communities like Bellevue and Dayton are following Newport’s impressive leadership. Dayton has developed nearly 60 acres of its waterfront in to the Watertown Yacht Club, offering hundreds of boat slips as well as a marina and restaurant complex.

Land recreation and outdoor adventures are equally accessible in Campbell County, where local, regional, and state parks encourage hiking, biking, swimming, boating, camping, horseback riding, fishing, and hunting. Closer to home, the county operates several major parks that are filled with premier sports facilities, including the 72-acre Edward S. Pendery Sports Park and Pendery Park. A.J. Jolly Park is one of the largest county parks in Kentucky, sprawling over 900 acres to offer an 18-hole golf course, a 200-acre fishing lake, nine ball fields and four soccer fields, play equipment, campgrounds, a bird sanctuary, a boat launch and fishing pier, and public and private picnic areas.

Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights enriches the community with its cultural arts series, although the bright lights of Cincinnati with its world-class cultural venues and attractions remains easily accessible. The housing choices in Campbell County are attractive and abundant, with many developers taking advantage of the area’s lovely rolling hills and waterfront views in planning new homes and developments. The premier bedroom community of Fort Thomas is especially well known for its beautiful homes along quiet, tree-lined streets, many of which command breathtaking views of the Ohio River and city lights. For a high quality of life in an affordable package, few environments can rival Campbell County.
