TAX & LICENSE / PET LICENSING

Massachusetts law mandates the annual licensing of dogs to prevent rabies and other health problems associated with pets as well as for identification purposes. These regulations, in turn, provide security for pet owners and enhance the general well-being of all residents. Dog owners may be subject to fines if their pet remains unlicensed. Applications for a dog license require proof of updated rabies vaccinations. For further information, contact the animal control officer in your municipality.
