TAX & LICENSE / PET LICENSING

All Oregon counties require registration of dogs over six months of age and Multnomah County also requires registration of cats. Registration requires proof of a current rabies vaccination. Most counties allow 30 days for newcomers to register animals, and renewals are annual. In Washington State, county commissioners are responsible for establishing pet licensing guidelines. For answers to specific questions and guidelines in your area, contact your local municipality or county animal control agency.
