Parents who are registering their children for the first time in a K-12 public school in Tennessee or Mississippi should bring the following documents: The child’s legal birth certificate, the child’s social security number, proof of residency (utility bill, mortgage papers, rental agreement), and physician-signed immunization records. It would be helpful to have the last report card, transfer records, or at least contact information for the last school attended.
