TAX & LICENSE / PET LICENSING

Minnesota Regulations
The laws that govern the registration and management of pets vary between municipalities, counties, and other jurisdictions. Dogs in both Minneapolis and St. Paul and most outlying communities must be licensed and vaccinated each year. For complete details on fees and requirements, contact the animal control office found your municipal directory or the city or town clerk. Those who reside in unincorporated areas should contact the county administration.

Wisconsin Regulations
Wisconsin law and most municipalities require that you license your dogs unless they are younger than six months of age. Annual licensing includes a vaccination against rabies. These vaccinations are strongly encouraged for cats as well, although the state does not require registration of feline pets. Many communities maintain leash laws and other regulations. For details, consult your local animal control officer.
