Enrollment Requirements

West Virginia
Enrollment and transfer requirements for all public school students includes an official birth certificate with State seal, prior school attendance records, and a record of immunizations including measles, mumps, rubella, polio and DPT.

First-time students who are enrolling in school in West Virginia must be five years old prior to September 1st. Proof that all immunizations are complete is required before the first day of school. West Virginia does not allow a grace period. Also required is an official birth certificate with State seal.

Maryland

Enrollment and transfer requirements for all public school students in Maryland include an official birth certificate as well as the last report card and transcripts from previous school(s) attended. Also required is proof of immunization against DTP, polio, rubella and measles.

First-time students enrolling in school in Maryland must be five years of age by either December 31st or January 1st, depending upon the county of residence. An official birth certificate and proof of immunizations compete the requirements.

Private Schools
The Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and Western Maryland are home to a number of quality private schools, both independent and church-affiliated schools.
