Ohio maintains state laws that require dog licensing including annual rabies vaccinations as well as leash and nuisance ordinances. Dogs must be licensed if they are at least three months old by January 31. First-time licenses and renewals must be finalized between December 1 and January 31 each year to avoid late penalties. New residents have 30 days to comply with licensing regulations. Licenses are purchased through the county auditor’s office. For details or answers to specific questions, contact:
