Distinguished as one of the state’s most rapidly growing and prosperous counties, Hamilton enjoys a centralized location in Indiana. As part of the metropolitan Indianapolis area, this region matured from its agricultural roots after World War II when suburban development began to accelerate. Hamilton County offers its residents a large choice in healthcare services, including several large and small hospitals. Clarian North Medical Center in Carmel, is a full-service 170 bed hospital. It offers dedicated pavilions for specialty surgery, women and children, and an attached medical office building – making access to high quality healthcare simple and convenient.  The area is also home to the county owned Riverview Hospital in Noblesville combines with Community Hospital North and St. Vincent Hospital-Carmel to anchor the county’s state-of-the-art healthcare services. With a staff of 350 physicians, the hospital offers primary care and specialty physicians throughout the county.

Educational opportunities in Hamilton County include a quality public school system and opportunities for private education in parochial and independent schools. The name “Geist” actually refers to a reservoir and recreation area in the northeast corner of the Indianapolis area. However, “The Geist area” that surrounds this beautiful expanse has become a popular residential area that encompasses northeastern Lawrence Township in Marion County and Fall Creek Township in Hamilton County. Separating Marion and Hamilton Counties to the north is 96th Street, which runs through the middle of the reservoir. The lovely homes in the Geist area fall into both townships, creating a residential community that has not been incorporated as a town or city. This rapidly growing and desirable area is approximately the size of Carmel in population, drawing newcomers to handsome neighborhoods and premier recreational amenities. The Lawrence Township section south of 96th Street is served by Lawrence Township Schools, while the Fall Creek Township section north of 96th Street is served by Hamilton Southeastern Schools.
