Healthcare is well represented in Hendricks County with several leading medical centers, Hospitals and medical facilities located though out the county. Located on Avon’s quiet north side, Clarian West is a full-service, community-based hospital with 86 beds. It offers a full range of services for residents of the community. Located in Danville is Hendricks Community Hospital which anchors the region’s advanced healthcare services. This not-for-profit, county-owned hospital takes great pride in offering state-of-the-art solutions while maintaining the “personal touch” of a community hospital. Since 1962, the hospital has been dedicated to delivering new technology, talented professionals and caring, compassionate healthcare to the western suburbs. Medical campuses for the hospital are also located in Avon, Brownsburg, and Plainfield.

The rapidly growing town of Avon in eastern Hendricks County offers a thriving, convenient community for family life as well as business and commerce. Ideally located along both sides of the major thoroughfare of U.S. 36 in beautiful Washington Township, Avon has experienced explosive growth in the past 15 years that ultimately led to its incorporation as a town in 1996. An outstanding educational system and public library, business-friendly location and climate, wealth of retail and shopping options, and first-class parks and recreational facilities combined with beautiful new homes and subdivisions to create an idyllic atmosphere. The Avon Community School Corporation boasts a state-of-the-art high school as well as a middle school, intermediate school, and five elementary schools.

Nestled in the northeastern part of Hendricks County, Brownsburg Town grew up around State Routes 267 and 136 to the north of Interstate 74. Spanning the two townships of Brown and Lincoln, the community is only a 10-minute drive from Indianapolis cultural arts and professional sports. Boasting a nationally ranked school system, the Brownsburg Community School Corporation, the town easily attracts newcomers to a family oriented atmosphere. Quaint, friendly, and yet progressive, Brownsburg offers a tranquil haven in which to live and raise children. Located in Center Township along U.S. 36, the county seat of Danville Town is only four miles west of Avon Town. This growing community just west of Indianapolis offers a revitalized downtown district, many new subdivisions, efficient transportation links, economic growth, and nationally recognized schools in the Danville Community School Corporation. Many activities and amenities are available in this family oriented environment that include local parks with picnic areas, swimming pool, tennis courts, baseball and softball diamonds, a Little League ballpark, and football fields. Blanton Woods provides 50 acres of natural beauty with marked trails. Concerts by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in the park each summer, Farmer’s Market on Danville Square, and golf attractions that include the top-rated Twin Bridges Golf Course are just a few of the highlights. Although many commuters are employed in Indianapolis or other urban centers, the Danville industrial base is expanding.

Located along U.S. 40 on the southwestern edge of Indianapolis, Plainfield town calls itself “A Community of Values.” In fact, the town identified 12 key values and recognizes a citizen each month that exemplifies the highlighted value. Growing steadily throughout the 20th century, Plainfield and Guilford Township boast the largest population in the county today. Five local parks include the largest township park in the state to provide a wealth of sports facilities and opportunities for recreation.
