For Annual festivals it’s hard to beat the Balloon Fest, which is held every year around the 4th of July weekend. Ashland County’s only city is Ashland, a city of just over 21,000 residents. The private University of Ashland is one of the county’s largest employers and enriches the community both culturally and intellectually. It occupies more than 140 acres in the city and is a center of activity. Ashland is a small city with many big city amenities, including a local newspaper. The local healthcare system offers regional healthcare facilities, and the city supports a bustling commercial sector.
