Post-secondary opportunities include the Miami-Jacobs Career College for specialized training and Sinclair Community College. The downtown Dayton campus for the college is one of the largest of any community college in the nation, providing college-track programs, direct-to-work career programs, and a wide range of continuing education opportunities. SCC has been recognized as a Vanguard Learning College, a term designated by the League for Innovation to recognize the top 12 learning-centered, two-year institutions in North America. The Miami Valley Hospital is a regional leader, home to CareFlight Air and Mobile Services, the region’s only Level I Trauma Center, and the birthing center for the majority of the region’s babies. One of Dayton’s landmark areas is the Neon District, where neon trim first lit up the city’s Transportation Center and movie theaters.
