Miami University, the University of Dayton, Wright State University, Ball State University, the Air Force Institute of Technology, and Central State University are all available within a reasonable commute.

The village of Bradford straddles Newberry and Adams townships in Miami and Darke counties, with Miami County claiming the largest population. Bradford provides a rural residential haven in close proximity to the urban resources of Dayton. The village features a small business district and two community parks. Across from the village hall, “Y” Park features a tennis court, basketball court, picnic facilities, and a state-of-the-art playground. Tipp City provides serves and conveniences for residents of rural Monroe Township and other surrounding communities in southern Miami County. Although the urban center of Dayton is only minutes from home, residents have developed their own celebrations and traditions like Community Night Concerts each summer. Another local delight is the Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market in historic downtown Tipp City. The development in Tipp City and Monroe County has been enhanced by the close proximity of Interstates 70 and 75, which has driven the opening of new restaurants, shops, and services. Progressive development complements the area’s rural, residential heritage, adding to the appeal. Monroe Township offers nearly 25 acres of developed and preserved recreational land, including lush parks and the Nelson C. and Betty D. Borchers Nature Preserve.
