Residents are able to meet all routine needs and many specialized healthcare needs close to home. Fayette County Memorial Hospital offers a 25-bed critical access community hospital. Founded in 1950 to bring quality healthcare to residents of Fayette County, FCMH is a county-owned, non-profit hospital that maintains a management agreement with the Mount Carmel Health System. The hospital’s tradition of providing compassionate care in a modern setting is evidenced in the continual growth and expansion of medical specialties, advanced equipment, technology, facilities, and staff. More then 300 skilled professionals contribute to the surprisingly wide range of healthcare resources available to Fayette County residents. Among them are a Birth Center, a Business Health program, cardiopulmonary, emergency care, surgical specialties, home health, laboratory and diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, a sleep lab, and therapies.

The educational opportunities in and near Fayette County are equally impressive, underlined by two local pubic school districts: Miami Trace Local School District and Washington City School District. The latter has recently opened all newly constructed schools from elementary through middle and high school. The Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development in Washington Court House serves students of all ages. Great Oaks is one of the largest career and technical education districts in the nation, providing career and workforce development as well as economic development services to individuals, business, industry, labor, communities and other organizations in southwest Ohio. Washington Court House offers the Fayette Center of Southern State Community College, while nearby Dayton is home to Sinclair Community College.
